The Outside - The property is approached via a private drive which leads through small wrought iron gates to a tarmac driveway with parking for several cars. Historical Note - The Coach House forms a part of the Burton Hill Estate. The hamlet includes the Grade II listed main house built in 1840's, designed by the Gothic revival architect, Augustus Pugin, best known for his work on The Palace of Westminster. The Estate was bequeathed to the Society of Jesuits as a retirement home for monks, remaining in their ownership until 1978 when the Burton Hill Estate was sold in its entirety.

Situation - The Coach House is located just 2.5 miles south of Petworth. Petworth is a delightful market Town set in the heart of the South Downs National Park, and provides a perfect blend of history, culture and shopping. Petworth has numerous cafes, boutiques and antique shops amongst its cobbled streets. It is teeming with historical houses including Leconfield Hall, a Georgian building located on the market square - the focus for the popular monthly Farmers' Market. The newly renovated Hall has a cinema and community space for concerts/performances. The town is surrounded by the Capability Brown designed grounds of Petworth House, a 17th century Grade 1 listed National Trust stately home.

Schools - There is a wide selection of well-regarded schools in the area, both state and private, including nearby Seaford College, Midhurst Rother College, Godalming Sixth Form College, Duncton C of E Junior School, Graffham C of E Primary School, Dorset House School and Great Ballard School.

Recreation - Nearby Goodwood Estate offers a range of activities including horse racing,
motor racing, golf, aerodrome and The Kennels Clubhouse. Goodwood's
annual Festival of Speed and Revival are very popular. The Cathedral City of
Chichester offers further amenities including Chichester Festival Theatre;
whilst Chichester Harbour and the accessible south coast offer numerous
marine opportunities.
