Set to the western edge of the Chiltern Hills, the village dates from the 7th century and used to lie on the main road to London. The former coaching inn is still open, now a pub and B&B. There is also a petrol station with a shop. The historic market town of Thame is four miles away and the extensive amenities of Oxford, is 12 miles.
