Crowlwm Chalets are situated in the heart of Mid Wales adjacent to the Clywedog Reservoir, Bryntail Mines and on the route of Glyndwr's Way and only 4 miles from the small market town of Llanidloes - the first town on the River Severn,
The chalet site extends to 8.15 acres (3.29 ha) and currently has 2 units. There is planning permission for a further 17 holiday accommodation units. Whilst the site has 2 units currently, the original planning permission had permisison for 3, with a further application for an additional 17 making a total of 20.
The site is adjacent to the Clywedog Reservoir which was built in the 1960's to control the flow of water into the River Severn. At the foot of the dam wall is Bryntail Mines which in the 19th century which transported the lead to Llanidloes and shipped down the River Severn. The mines closed in 1884 and the remains which still stand include the crushing house, all bins, roasting ovens, smithy and the mining managers office.
Llanidloes offers a wide range of cafes, shops, amenities and facilities together with recreational facilities - ie - sailing and fishing on the reservoir, walking and cycling in the Hafren Forest nearby. The coastal university town of Aberystwyth is some 36 miles away and with access to the Snowdonia National Park via Machynlleth and Aberdyfi.
